Sharpspitter

Sharpspitter is a venomous dragon. It spits a highly acidic venom at its target and waits while its prey becomes unable to escape. It hunts at night and can be deadly.

(3:56 PM)

I turned on the camera a pointed it to my hiking partner, Troye Dillan. We were hiking in the Amazon and decided to video tape the entire thing.

Troye put a foot on a rock in front of him and began talking to the camera.

"Hey guys. Sorry that you couldn't come with us to the amazon. We miss you guys! And I sure miss you, Bella. Better now catch you with someone else when I get back! Oh, while we're gone, be sure to give my bud Daniel here a good lookin' babe!" He cracked out laughing after saying this, "Okay, now that we have that done, lets get down to out hiking trip. This is the second day in the rainforest and its extremely hot here. I tell you I'm sweating like no one's business! Masquitos are terrible. But there are also some awsome creatures here! Just the other day Daniel said he saw tiger tracks."

He paused for a moment, before continuing, "Thats it for now, lets keep going."

I dropped the camera lower a bit to face Troye. "I'm going to keep it on during the trip. Lets get moving." I said, letting him lead the way.

(7:34 PM)

"hey! I think we're lost! We havent even come near the checkpoint we were supposed to. We should have seen it hours ago!" I called after Troye, who was a few yards ahead of me. He turned around and walked back to me.

"Its getting dark, man. We should set up camp for the night and look again in the morning. How the heck did you get us lost anyway?" I said out of breath.

"Somethings wrong with the compass. It's spinning instead of pointing north." Troye replied, showing me the compass. I looked at it and saw for myself. The arrow was spinning rapidly in circles. "Is there a magnetic field around here?"

"I don't know. Wait what was that?" Troye said, looking around in circles at the trees. There was a sudden sound of scratching against a tree. It was loud enough for us to hear it.

"I don't know. Lets set up camp and make a fire. The fire should keep animals away." I said, taking off my backpack.

--------------------

(10:67 PM)

The only light was coming from the fire. There wasn't even the light of the stars escaping through the canopy of trees above. The forest was loud with crickets and the sounds of wolves howling.

I was sitting by the fire. Troye was on the other side. We shared stories to eachother about random things.

I turned on the camera to take a video of the night.

"So, this is night of our second day in this forest. We are lost and our compass is not functioning. We are in no danger at the moment and we have plenty of food in our packs for a whole week. When dawn comes around we will search for the checkpoint and get on home." I turned the camera back to Troye. He rested his head on his knees.

Suddenly something strange just occured. It was so sudden and instant.
The forest got deathly silent.

"Wha-what happened to the howling and the crickets?" I asked. Troye picked up his head and looked around. It was so silent our own breaths were loud to our ears.

Our heads turned to a twig snapping. There was nothing in sight, but the sound made us get on our feet. We looked at the direction of the twig snapping, but saw nothing. I was about to sit back down when all of a sudden Troye began to scream and curse in pain.

"My leg! Its burning!" He said. He fell to the ground and looked at his leg. Just below the knee cap there was a yellow goo. just under it was bare mussle. The skin was gone in the area of his leg. "It burns! It burns like hell! Get this damn stuff off me!" He cried at the top of his lungs. I ran to my backpack and took one of the canteens. Opening the lid, I poured the water onto the yellow ooze. Troye's Cries calmed a little. He began to pant. "Okay, okay. I'm good." He tried to stand up, but when he set weight on his wounded leg, he instantly fell back down. "No good, no good! I can't even feel the bottom half of my leg anymore, and the wound still burns." He said.

I dragged him into his tent and dressed his wound. I gave him a canteen of water and zipped the tent up.

(3:37 AM)

I woke up to Troye breathing heavy. I looked at his wound and unrapped it. Suprise took hold of me. The muscle was no longer there, and there was a gash in the bone.

"Man, wake up, we have to go. any longer and you won't have a leg left to save!" I said, trying to wake him up. When he did, he nodded. I unzipped the tent and pulled him out.

I dragged him from the chest up through the forest. I looked at the compass to see that it was working properly. That meant they could head east to a known village and ask for help. I turned direction and headed that way.

I continued to drag him, when all of a sudden I lost my footing. I turned in time to see myself falling down a shallow hill, it was about ten feet down. It was shallow enough to not give me any injury. When I hit the ground I landed with a thump. It took me a minute to catch my breath.

"Oh god, No! NO!" Came troye's cries. He began to scream in terror. I looked up to see him hugging a tree with both his arms, laying flat on the ground. He was staring at me, his eyes wide. All of a sudden, he let out a pained cry and was dragged from view.

I stood there for a moment, hearing his cries fade into the distance. I came to my senses when I head a loud noise just to the side of me. I turned and ran toward where the village would be. I ran as fast as I could and didn't dare look back. I had finally madeit to level ground when all of a sudden I felt a terrible burning pain on my left leg. I looked down to see the yellow ooze. I regained my balance and tried to limp on. I made it several steps before falling to my side. I took on to crawling.

"Oh god, no. Leave me alone! LEAVE ME ALONE!" I cried. I felt the burn go through my leg and my bottom shin and foot going numb. I was no longer able to walk. Tears were rolling down my eyes. Suddenly I felt something like a row of daggers jab into my unharmed leg. I cried out in pain and grabbed onto a nearby tree. I felt the creature tugging against me. I turned to face my attacker to see that a large, reptilian head staring at me. It had green scales and its jaws were clamped onto my leg, tugging at me. It's wings were folded and it blened in with its surroundings. I could feel my leg ripping apart.

Eventually My arms tired and I slipped from the tree. The camera dropped and faced me, still recording, while I was dragged away.

The last thing the camera saw was of me dissapearing behind a bush and my screams fading into the distance.

-the end-
this is a tribute to the series on animal Planet: Lost Tapes.

This is how most of the endings to the tapes on the series go. Usually with the person being dragged out of view or something of the sort.

Sometimes though there are no casualties.
